Comments: Beautiful map of the coast of Sierra Leone with the southern part of Guinea, circa 1843. Includes extensive geographical descriptions of the coast and its islands. Some inland features are also described with the paths of various explorers 1794-1822. A table shows the "Returns of the Trade Population &c of Sierra Leone 1817-1825" detailing the importation and exportation of goods, and the breakdown of population ("Whites", "Liberated Africans" and "Nova Scotians disbanded"). In excellent condition.

Thanks for the note. I'm actually in NY for a few days and was hoping to get there but have to head back tomorrow. I've been stopping by the Argosy for over 60 years starting when my mother would take me there after shopping at Bloomingdale's and lunch at a long gone restaurant on the east side of Lexington between 58th and 59th that was torn down to make way for Alexander's department store; that is gone too, of course. - Peter H.
