Comments: "The text covers the period 1497-1828. Haliburton, a Nova Scotian, trained to law, sat in the Assembly from 1826 and was judge in Nova Scotian courts from 1829 till he retired to England in 1856...He later gained distinction as a humourous writer under the pseudonym, Sam Slick." Staton and Tremaine, 1542. Large folding map is of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and has been repaired with no loss of text. Plans include the town of Louisburg, the harbor there and the Fort of Louisburg. Among the plates is a harbor view of Halifax. In volume I, pages 302-303 are misnumbered as 202-203. In volume II, page 164 is misnumbered as 152 and page numbers 175-178 are omitted with no loss of text.Edition: First
