Description: Written to the editor-in-chief of McCall's magazine about the completion of his novel, in part: "As one of the prime sponsors of my 'Youngblood Hawke' you ought to know that I finished the work yesterday, 2,785 handwritten pages. I'm proceeding straight to the typing job. I'm reasonably sure McCall's has its money's worth in this novel!" 2 pages on light blue paper, written in blue ink with (horizontal folds; paperclip imprint near the upper left corner of both pages). 7.5 x 5.75 inches. St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, February 11, 1961. Very good condition.

I just finished reading about the store and your family in Nick Basbanes newest book, Patience & Fortitude. I had previously read an article in Book magazine. I wished that I lived near so I could visit your store, it looks and sounds like a place I dream of getting lost in. Basbanes book mentioned that your father began a memoir but was, sadly, unable to finish the work. Would it be in anyway possible to read what must be a great historical adventure in bookselling?
