Description: Autographed letter signed by Lawrence Morris to his brother Lewis regarding movement of British troops south from New York, which were in fact reinforcements to General Cornwallis from General Clinton. 7.5" x 9", 2 pages, signed "L. Morris." Philadelphia, May 28th, 1781.

Comments: "...for if the enemy should lend their whole force to the southward, he will not be able to resist them. We have reports today that they are about to evacuate New York, that they intend for the southward...Their movements are more secret than our..."

I just finished reading about the store and your family in Nick Basbanes newest book, Patience & Fortitude. I had previously read an article in Book magazine. I wished that I lived near so I could visit your store, it looks and sounds like a place I dream of getting lost in. Basbanes book mentioned that your father began a memoir but was, sadly, unable to finish the work. Would it be in anyway possible to read what must be a great historical adventure in bookselling?
