Description: Pioneering Egyptologist, linguist and the father of Modern Archeology. He coined the phrase "Book of the Dead" and discovered the Canopus Decree, an inscription closely related to the Rosetta Stone, which was likewise written in Hieroglyphic and Demotic. Exceedingly rare A.L.S., 8vo. 2 pages, Ciolton Terrace, 1846, in French, untranslated but with references to Pyramids, Monuments and "Das Todtenbuch": - Book of the Dead. Light show-through not affecting text, mounting remnants on verso otherwise very good condition.

Comments: Lepsius is rare in any form and letters with even a mention of the Book of the Dead are rarer still.

I just received my book today, and I wanted to thank you for the very prompt shipping. I was especially happy (and a little surprised) to see that you upgraded the shipment to UPS Ground. As to the condition of the book you are right; it is a solid Very Good, at least. Thank you all around for your professionalism. - J.N.
