Comments: Sometimes published as "The Other I" , this is the first novel by the Israeli author who lived in Jamaica, New York & England. Enclosed are two typed letters signed "Yael Stoppi" (her first married name), New York, Dec. 5, 1961 & Montego Bay, April 3, 1962. Three full pages in all, they are addressed to John Goodwin, and refer to a project of his that had to do with her book. "...I am no longer very close to it and although I remember how I felt when I wrote it, I am not always sure of how I handled certain things in the final version...." However, she goes on in some detail.

I've been looking for another copy of "West of the Indus" for nearly twenty years (I know, it's such a cultural wasteland out here in the provinces), and I never expected to find one with a dust jacket. I am amazed. Thank you so much. I've enjoyed many books over the years, but this one has always been one of my favorites.
