Description: 2 pages on "Des Deputes" stationery, each two-page spread measuring 4.5 x 8 inches, Paris, July 13, 1880. Signed "L. Gambetta" to French General deGalliffet Gaston. Accompanied by the original handwritten, post-marked envelope. Horizontal tear repaired; good condition.

Comments: French statesman who escaped Paris in a balloon during Bloody Monday. His mysterious death was listed as "a wound in the hand caused by accidental discharge of a pistol."

I want to thank you for your excellent service. I telephoned to inquire about the availability of a book this past Wednesday morning. Michele informed me it was available and took my order at about 11 AM EST. The next day when I got home from work, I was astounded to find that the book had been delivered in the early afternoon -- less than 30 hours after the order.
