Comments: The hummingbird feeding at a blossom of a trumpet creeper. Mark Catesby (1683-1749), born in England, was America's first naturalist/illustrator. He was the first to comprehensively illustrate natural history delineating the American flora and fauna. This selection was etched and published by Johann Seligmann (1720-1762) after Catesby.
