Description: 1 page on personal letterhead, 11 x 8.5 inches, New York, February 10, 1966. In this letter, Thomas is responding to a letter from constitutional lawyer Howard Meyer regarding L.B.J's failure to protest a refusal to seat Julian Bond in the Georgia legislature after Bond won the election. In part: "...President Johnson should have protested the refusal to seat Julian Bond. But the situation in Georgia is very different from what it was under Grant...Johnson could argue that fortunately there was no need of Federal pressure..." Natural folds; slight browning around the edges. Still very good condition.

Comments: Six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.
