Description: 4 pages, each two-page spread measuring 9.75 x 15.5 inches, New York, July 10, 1787. Written to his brother Lewis Morris about setting up the tobacco dynasty, in part: "...I send you a letter from our worthy brother Jacob whose misfortunes in the commercial line have compelled him to 'fly for shelter' to the fertile banks of the Susquehanna where he proposes settling...a farm of 3,000 acres..." Some paper loss from wax seal; chips affecting text on the outer margins. Good condition.
