Date Published: 1930

Description: Vintage sepia photograph measuring 9.5 x 7 inches, no place, no date, circa 1930, showing Jones wearing a vest and cowboy hat, gazing stoically at the camera. Inscribed near the lower left corner: "Wishing you all good luck. Sincerely, Charles Buck Jones." Thumb tack holes in the corners, light creasing, and some numbers written in pencil on verso; very good(-) condition.

Comments: Charles "Buck" Jones is considered one of the greatest B-Western movie stars of all time. Although born in Indiana, Jones grew up on a ranch near Red Rock in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), and there learned the riding and shooting that would prepare him to be a hero of Westerns. With his famed horse Silver, Jones was one of the most successful and popular actors in the genre, and at one point he was receiving more fan mail than any actor in the world.

Dear Argosy, I just finished watching TV. Now I know there is the old books store called Argosy in Manhattan, New York. I've been looking for first edition of Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott. Do you have it? If you do please let me know. - Itoko Kadooka
