Description: 2 pages (front and back), 10 x 7.25 inches, Scituate, Massachusetts, August 6, 1921. This letter acknowledges a note from Bacon and compliments his performance in "Lightnin'," which Benchley reviewed for "Life." In part: "...The second time I saw 'Lightnin' (about a month ago) your characterization was as fresh and as delightful as when I saw it three years ago, a performance which should be classed with turning water into wine and the stunt with the loaves and fishes as one of the world's greatest miracles..." Several folds; slight chipping along the left margin. Very good condition.
