Humorous 16-line poem signed in full by the British poet laureate, expressing thanks to his friends for making him feel at home during a visit, in part: "I've had a better time this trip than when I came before For Eleanor and Sister Sue Who met me at the door... When I was here two weeks ago My life was made a torture By one whose name I must forego To mention -- She's a scorcher." 1 page on lined notebook paper with a clipping, glued to the paper, of a washerwoman in a blouse and dress, carrying a basket of laundry with a black square in place of her head. 6.5 x 7.5 inches. No place, July 1, 1904. Very good condition.
