Comments: Henry N. Hudson was a chaplain with the 1st New York Volunteer Engineers and war correspondent for the New York Evening Post. In a letter to the editor, Hudson slandered Benjamin Butler, his commander. Butler imprisoned Hudson for several weeks. After reviewing the case, General Grant sided with Hudson and condemned Butler for his action. This pamphlet is Hudson's side of the incident.
