Description: 1 page, 5.5 x 8.5 inches, with a special date and time stamp in blue ink on the upper left corner, Washington, D.C., March 16, 1910. Signed "A.J. Volstead," this letter is a response to his colleagues' inquiry regarding a proposed telepost bill in the House of Representatives, in part: "...We have passed in the House...There was no real opposition in the house to the measure and it will no doubt become a law during this session..." Natural folds plus a faint crease on the right margin; very good(+) condition.

Comments: Congressman and author of the "Volstead Act," which ushered in Prohibition.
