Description: 1 page on aged but well-preserved paper with the recipient's signature and notes on verso, 3 x 8 inches, New York City, June 2, 1801. This document, boldly signed by Varick, authorizes payment of one thousand dollars to the Street Commissioner. Slightly chipped around the edges, but still in very good condition.

Comments: Revolutionary War soldier who served as Benedict Arnold's Aide-de-Camp.
