Description: Frontispiece portrait and 156 fine engravings of the highest quality, printed on 116 plates. ix, [1], 42pp of text printed in double columns. Elephant folio, 19th century 3/4 leather over marbled boards with ornate gilt-stamped spine, a.e.g. (binding worn but sound; title page is damaged and mounted on heavy stock; one plate repaired on verso well outside of image area, otherwise plates are remarkably clean). London: Baldwin & Craddock, (no date, circa 1837).

Comments: A very nice copy of this scarce and beautifully printed book. This copy includes 2 of the 3 suppressed plates (Before & After) loose in a hidden pocket at rear. The publication date is derived from one of the final plates "Charity in the Cellar," dated 1837.
