Description: 1 page, 12.5 x 7.75 inches, West Bengal, December 22, 1981. Written by the artist-engraver, responding to a request for a photograph and discussing the practical difficulties of being an artist in India, in part: "...I have requested you to become my patron, and I wish to dedicate my book to you if you will have no objections...no good copperplate art materials are available in India. Neither any proper art galleries...I tried hard for the last 50 years but no results..." Accompanied by a "List of Rare Valuable Indian Paintings Drawings Etchings Engravings" by Dey as well as the original stamped and postmarked envelope in which all these items were sent. Very good(+) condition.

Dear Argosy. THANK YOU very very much. I ordered the book "A Case of Removal of the Lower Jaw, for Osteo-Sarcoma of Immense Size" by George C. Blackman. I was pleased beyond words just to think that I was getting an original copy of a book that my great great grandfather wrote. When it arrived it was an even bigger treasure for me, as his own handwriting was in the upp right corner of the cover, giving the book to a fellow colleague.
