Written by the leader of the "Manchester School" of Economics and "Apostle of Free Trade," this letter to an unknown correspondent discusses renting matters on a property Cobden owned in Lancashire, England, in part: "...I had written before your note arrived to a friend in Lancashire...who asked me...to say that I was under an engagement to see Mr...and I requested my friend to tell his tenants that they must be good enough to communicate with a map..." Natural folds and very light staining; still very good condition.
