Comments: Some occasional light dampstains in outer margins, still an excellent copy, with the half-title in each volume, and the 16pp. list of subscribers at front. First edition. With the Earl of Carysfort bookplate in first volume. "The virtuoso who wrote Tristram Shandy achieved his most perfect performance in A Sentimental Journey" - Oxford History of English Literature p.446. One of the most influential works in 18th century English literature. Lowndes 2509.
