I chipped and repaired, some contemporary notes on some margins of vol. I including t.p.). London: T. Becket and P.A. De Hondt, 1763. First Edition in English.

Comments: Extra-illustrated copy with a second copy of the map of Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico bound in. The larger map shows the Mississippi River and the Southern Colonies from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi and also Texas and New Mexico. The large map and one of the Louisiana maps have some contemporary ink symbols and words delineating a few locations. They are neatly written in blank areas. "Relation, based on a residence from 1718 to 1734, valuable for showing French claims to the southern territory east of the Mississippi and for particulars concerning Indian nations there." As an Interior Decorator I am on the constant lookout for source material for my clients. I recently completed a Studio pied a terre in the Georgian period for Mr. David Brown at Lincoln Center. That is, we were almost finished with only the artwork to be designed and purchased. I have a passion for antique architectural prints and I can't believe that I didn't know about Argosy Books. After all Designers don't really like to share their finds with others.
