Comments: Friendly letter asking him to contribute some short stories to a "series of books we're working hard on..." It is an interesting form, once you get the feel of it, and you will find yourself among worthy contemporaries, I think.....We have some swell stories from William March and Arthur Calder-Marshall, etc. etc. and we would be proud to have you in the human history of the year as well" ..... "As you may have heard...poor Laurence got diptheria...and then Apple-Joan caught it from a distance, and the three of us lived happily in Infektionhaus in Innsbruck for 3 weeks...We plan to stay another year for financial reasons particularly and I have to produce another baby in about a fortnight's time, all of which takes time off from work..." I have to congratulate you and Argosy Book store. I have received "Fêtes Galantes" very promptly on Thursday and had no tax to pay (very rare 'cause French customs are very greedy when parcels arrived from the States). Love to do business with you ! Best regards - M.A.
