Description: 1 page on blind-stamped lined paper, 8 x 5 inches, (Washington, D.C.), May 21, 1864, in full: "By sending your petition to your Representative in the House of Reps., or to either of your U.S. Senators, you can have it presented to whichever branch of Congress you prefer." Accompanied by a decorative "House of Representatives" free-franked envelope. The letter has two horizontal folds and an uneven left edge, but is otherwise fine; the envelope has two small stains and is in very good(-) condition.
