Comments: The author was the recorder of London. In this and a previous work he is against the advocates of Lord William Russell's innocence. In 1683, Lord Russell was convicted and executed for treason. He was accused of participating in the Rye House Plot to assassinate Charles II. In 1689, Parliament overturned Russell's conviction.
