Description: 1 page, 10.25 x 7 inches, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, May 12, 1962. In this letter, Eisenhower declines to participate in an awards presentation in his name, in part: "Thank you for all the trouble you went to in an effort to draw up a program for the then projected Eisenhower Americana Awards. I have given considerable thought to my participation...and I have come to the conclusion...that I must resign my post as Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board..." Staple holes and slight discoloration in the upper left corner; tiny stain in the left margin; usual folds. Still very good condition.
