Description: 1 page, 10.5 x 8 inches, Washington, D.C., May 16, (1950). Signed by Congressmen on the bi-partisam committee to create the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, including committee chairman Hale Boggs. Also signed by Mike Mansfield, Walter Judd, Christian Herter, Robert Hale, George Miller, and others. Historic typed letter signed to a fellow Congressman, seeking support for the creation of what became NATO, in part: "We, the undersigned, joined on January 15 in reintroducing into the House the Atlantic Union Resolution (H. Con. Res. 26-33, 35, 37 and 48) which has gathered increasing support...We believe that this Resolution provides a practical and effective means of achieving the greater unity of the North Atlantic countries which has now become essential..." Staple hole and small tear on the upper left corner; otherwise near fine.

Dear Argosy. THANK YOU very very much. I ordered the book "A Case of Removal of the Lower Jaw, for Osteo-Sarcoma of Immense Size" by George C. Blackman. I was pleased beyond words just to think that I was getting an original copy of a book that my great great grandfather wrote. When it arrived it was an even bigger treasure for me, as his own handwriting was in the upp right corner of the cover, giving the book to a fellow colleague.
