Description: 335 pages. 8vo, original sheep; well-worn and with extensive repairs to spine. Philadelphia, 1819. First American, from the Second London edition.

Comments: Austin 1714. Work by which Scudamore is best known, based upon his observations of about 100 cases of gout and containing one of the first contributions to the study of the distribution of gouty changes. He believed that gouty persons were subject to the gravel, and he is the first English author who mentions the frequent presence of a circular chest, instead of an eliptical one, in those suffering from gout.
