Description: 2 pages together measuring 7 x 8.75 inches, London, January 8, 1868. Signed "Geo. Cruikshank" to John Bele, discussing church property near Trafalgar Square, in part: "...I called at the St. Martin Vestry...and his assistant could give no certain information as to the extent of control held by the Parish over the terrace and other parts of Trafalgar Square..." The letter has been mounted onto a 7.5 x 9.25-inch white piece of paper. Several folds and stains; very good(-) condition.

Thanks for the note. I'm actually in NY for a few days and was hoping to get there but have to head back tomorrow. I've been stopping by the Argosy for over 60 years starting when my mother would take me there after shopping at Bloomingdale's and lunch at a long gone restaurant on the east side of Lexington between 58th and 59th that was torn down to make way for Alexander's department store; that is gone too, of course. - Peter H.
