The Pen/Faulkner Award was founded in 1980 by writers to honor their peers. The 1982 winner was David Bradley for "The Chaneysville Incident". The other nominees were Donald Barthelme, Richard Bausch, Mark Helprin, Marilyn Robinson and Robert Stome.
