Comments: "Lady Montague deserves the credit of being the first English advocate. Her husband was then ambassador at...; noble--and she safeguarded her children--in that city. The custom of inoculation was well understood. Princess Caroline, afterwards Queen, was the influence which introduced the custom into England..."
