In this letter, Damrosch inquires about renting a summer cottage on Long Island, in part: "At Miss Johnston's tea the other afternoon you had the kindness to mention a place to me where I could rent a cottage for the summer -- East Hampden I think. I now take the liberty of asking you whether you could tell me the name of an agent there to whom I might apply..." Draft of the recipient's response written in pencil on the back. Natural folds; very good condition.
