Description: 2 pages (front and back), 8 x 4.75 inches, New York, March 10, 1874. Written to Elbridge T. Gerry, inquiring whether or not he could call on Gerry's nurse to testify in one of his court cases, in part: "I should like the privilege of calling your nurse Jane Williams to testify before the Surrogate in the...case tomorrow...if it may be done without too great disturbance to you domestic affairs. And as I wish to see her first, may I call for the purpose this evening at 8 o'clock by which time I presume your babies will all be in the arms of nature's sweet restorer..." Natural folds; very good(+) condition.
