Description: 2 pages, 8.25 x 6 inches, Los Angeles, February 21, 1946. In this letter -- signed with a flourish -- Rathbone inquires about the availability of the play "Jealousy" by Louis Verneuil, in part: "...I would like to try this play out, playing Maurice myself, for 4 or 5 weeks here on the coast & possibly next summer in Stock in the East. Before proceeding to make any plans I would like to hear from you on the copyright situation. I hear Mr. Verneuil has rewritten the play and that a Mr. Luther Grem is trying to get a production for it. What does this do to the original play 'Copyright 1932 by Samuel French'?..." Stamped with the date of receipt. Two staple holes and one horizontal fold; still near fine.

I want to thank you for your excellent service. I telephoned to inquire about the availability of a book this past Wednesday morning. Michele informed me it was available and took my order at about 11 AM EST. The next day when I got home from work, I was astounded to find that the book had been delivered in the early afternoon -- less than 30 hours after the order. Now, I know that UPS deserves some credit, but such fast delivery would not have occurred if Michele (and perhaps others) had not worked extremely efficiently. The book was well packed and fully meets my expectations, and Michele even got my name right! You have demonstrated a level of service I hope all merchants would meet. Thanks again. - Guy Hasegawa
