Description: Fine autographed letter signed "F.S. Converse," written two days before his death, mentioning several of his works. 2 pages, 4to, personal stationery. Westwood, MA, March 5, 1940.

Comments: "In reply to your recent letter I would suggest that you try my 'Song of the World Adventurers' and 'March of the Pioneers' both published by the H.W. Gray Co. N.Y. Also 'The Water Lily' in a collection of Silver, Burdett Co. Boston and a song for male chorus 'Pirates,' Row Music Co., 725 Boylston St. Boston. Same publisher 'In a Tropic Garden' female voices. Your beautifully wrapped package of books -- two copies of "Journal in the Night" -- arrived at my door this morning and made my day! A thousand thanks for the care you took, first to find them, and then to send them as you did, all done up with tissue paper to boot. It was like Christmas in June AND it was my first experience buying books on the Internet. All the best to you, and perhaps our paths will cross again. - Janet B.
