Autographed Letter in French Signed by the Ballooning Pioneer

1 page, 11 x 8 inches, on his highly ornate letterhead with an engraving and photo of his balloons, Grands Ateliers Aerostatiques de Paris de Louis Godard, Aerostation Civile et Militaire, Paris, April 1907. This rare letter was written to the director of the Societe Fermiere des Annuaires, declining a solicitation to advertise in a newsletter, translated in part: "I received your offer to advertise in the newsletter of the French Astronomical Society. I have gone over my budget for publicity this year, and your rates are a little high for me." Natural folds; very good condition.
