how to order Options: The easiest way to browse and shop for books is to use the automated forms in our books link. You can also place orders by phone, fax, email, or snail-mail. Our contact info is on the home page. Inventory number: All of our books are referenced by a code which begins with G, R, or M. Please include the code when ordering. If you don't know the code, make sure you provide the exact title, author's name, and edition. Maps, prints, and autographs are not referenced by the code, so please be as specific as possible. After you order: After you place an order, we will contact you to confirm availability, answer your questions, and complete the transaction. We try to fill orders within two business days, but because some stock is off-premises in our warehouse, some orders may take longer. We'll keep you posted. Availability: After we sell an item, we remove the listing from the web site. Sometimes, when the store is extra busy, this can take an hour or two, so on very rare occasions we might not have the item you want. Please don't be mad if this happens. And don't send your payment until we confirm availability. Payment: We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express on our secure server. Checks in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank are fine, but funds must clear our bank before we ship your order. Libraries and educational institutions may be invoiced for purchases - please supply a purchase order number. Terms: Prices are net, and do not include shipping charges. Appropriate sales tax will be added for residents of New York State. Shipping books: If you want us to send your book(s) via the US Postal Service, add $5.00 for the first volume and $1.00 for each additional volume. For Priority Mail, the first volume is $6.00, and for United Parcel, it's $7.00. These prices may vary slightly for oversized (or undersized) books. Shipping maps & prints: Unless you request otherwise, maps and prints are always carefully wrapped, packed flat, and sent via UPS. Prices usually range from $12 to $15 depending on the destination. Shipping overseas: We send most parcels via Global Priority Airmail or FedEx Airmail. Rates vary. Let us know if you prefer surface delivery. It costs less, but be warned: your parcel can't be insured or tracked, and it might take eight weeks to reach you. Warranty & returns: Items may be returned, within five days of receipt, only if they don't match our description.
